SOLUS TA31 The Solus TA31 is Kumho's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sporty coupes, sedans and crossover vehicles. It's used as Original Equipment on the Chrysler 200, Hyundai Sonata and Kia Soul urban crossover vehicles. Solus TA31 tires are designed to blend responsive handling, long wear and a comfortable ride with all-season traction, even in light snow. Kumho's all-season tread compound is molded into a five-rib symmetric design featuring a continuous center rib flanked by notched intermediate ribs and large shoulder blocks to deliver predictable handling, year-round traction and even wear. Four circumferential grooves and lateral notches promote hydroplaning resistance by evacuating water from under the footprint while engineered sipes increase the number of biting edges needed to enhance wet road and wintertime traction. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon on top of a polyester cord casing to blend strength, durability and ride comfort. KEY FEATURES The all-season tread compound of the Crugen HP71 is molded into a five rib, symmetric design featuring Kumho's Variable Pitch Technology that provides a quiet and comfortable ride while also allowing for easy rotation patterns to promote even wear and longevity. A rigid center rib provides solid on-center feel and combines with strong shoulders in aiding handling and steering response while also adding stability to combat irregular wear. Notches in the ribs and wide grooves in the shoulders combine with four circumferential grooves to evacuate water from the contact patch for hydroplaning resistance, and sipes and independent tread blocks create biting edges for traction in slippery conditions. The tire's internal structure consists of a two-ply polyester cord body for enhanced ride quality and improved strength.
